For some strange reason, back in January I thought it would be a good idea to subject myself to a 1500 metre swim in the Thames, followed by a 40km bike ride all nicely rounded off with a 10km run on what it usually one of the hottest days of the year - so rather foolishly I entered myself for the London Triathlon.

Now as the day approaches, this overweight, injury plagued 40-something is seriously questioning the wisdom of his decision.

In an attempt to make the impending pain and suffering a little more palatable, I would ask you all to please give generously and sponsor my endeavours.

I am collecting for Chestnut Tree House who do a great job as the only children's hospice in Sussex that cares for children and young adults from 0-19 years of age with progressive life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
