Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 1st July I am going to try to complete The Outlaw, an iron distance triathlon which consists of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride and a full 26.2 mile marathon, in under 17 hours.
I started getting interested in triathlon and running events about 18 months ago and when I did I promised myself that I would do an event, in memory of my Dad, for a charity that I feel indebted to.
My Dad had his first stroke in 1998 which left him unable to use the left side of his body. It was important to us that he lived at home. Mum had a full-time job, Adam (my brother) and I were still at school and at times it was hard to provide the care that he needed. Every so often Dad would go to a nearby Leonard Chesire care home for respite care. Leonard Chesire is a charity which povides care for disabled people and support for their families. When Dad stayed at Leonard Cheshire he was always exceptionally well cared for. Dad died in 2005 but without the support of Leonard Cheshire the 7 years following his stroke would have been alot more difficult for our family and I will always be grateful for that.
Anything that you can donate, to support a great charity that does fantastic work, will be much appreciated.
