Story
I have put too much Couch Potato stomach on over this second lock down. Time to cut the beers and get on the tread mill and head for a 5K run over 8 weeks using the Couch Potato to 8 weeks to a 5k run. I want my challenge to have a meaning for lives of children in Iran. Most of these children have lost their parents through execution, imprisonment or forced disappearance. I can not think of a better Charity than ILA to do this for and to keep me motivated.
I have been supporting refugees, women and children of Iran, for more than 10 years. When I came across International Liberty Association, I met volunteers who have dedicated many years of their lives to help those in need in Iran. I met volunteers whose tolerant views, with no resentment and agony, inspired me. They are lively in spite of having to flee persecution and losing family. Seeing all the good work they have been doing, from saving thousands of refugees, left to their own fate and in harms way by world community, to saving women and children repressed made me realise they are special. I befriended them, some very young and some much older. I have taken this challenge on to raise to raise funds for their projects of preventing children from labouring on the streets.
Every step of the way I will think of these children, giving meaning to their lives and they are giving meaning to mine
