Story

Updated on July 5th

Well, last training walk yesterday. Trudged up Moel Eilio from Llanberis in some pretty miserable weather and from there a good walk at lower levels. Big day Saturday, hoping the weather is better for the coming weekend. Thanks to all who have donated - it means a lot.

Keeping training and looking forward to the big day now. Hotel booked for the night before so we can be off at first light. An unexpected benefit of the preparations has been the fact that I have acquired half a wardobe of pants I thought had been lost to me forever!

On a more important note, thank you so much for donating to this cause. We have already raised enough money to pay for horseriding lessons for the younger pupils, gymnastics sessions, servicing the playground scooters and almost half a year's sports therapy sessions. These are real things that make a real difference to the kids at Rosebank.

Rest assured that both Young Dave and I will be working hard to show you that your donation is truly appreciated.

Old Dave.

Well, a big thank you for everyone who has donated so far. Training is going well and I got some miles in the legs in North Wales yesterday. Training this week, followed by a longer walk next weekend before the big event on 10 July. Once again, a big thank you to everyone who has donated and rest assured I am putting the effort in to complete the course on the big day.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

They say that age brings wisdom, but I guess I must be the exception that proves the rule. When young Dave suggested walking the Welsh 3000's in a day I thought, how hard can it be?

How hard indeed? Hard apparently with 14 peaks over 3000 feet and 30 odd miles including getting to the start line at the top of Snowdon and down from the finish line.

Now that I have hauled myself back in the gym to train for this I just wanted to say what a fantastic cause Rosebank is. As a parent of two boys who attend Rosebank, I am a sold on the amazing work they do. As a school for children on the Autistic Spectrum, it is a truly special place and I thank you with all my heart for considering making a donation.

Help me to teach Young Dave that there is life in the old dog yet and that I can show him the way home.

Details of the walk itself can be found at http://www.welsh3000s.co.uk/
