Story
Throughout September 2021 I will attempt The 1.2 Challenge for OCD-UK. The aim is to walk an extra 1.2 miles everyday for 30 days in support of the 1.2% of the population who are affected by OCD. OCD-UK have been a tremendous help to me over the past year and I hope the money raised will continue to support their work.
Over the summer I suffered a relapse in my mental health. My OCD and Depression have worsened making situations like leaving the house incredibly difficult. Whilst an extra 1.2 miles a day might not sound too much of a challenge, in the last month alone I've left the house only a handful of times and I've struggled with some day-to-day tasks. For anyone who has had or have OCD and Depression can understand how difficult some tasks can be and how torturous the conditions can be. As well as raising money for OCD-UK, I hope the challenge will help boost my mental well-being and spread awareness of OCD. Any amount of money no matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated and go such a long way.
Let's spread awareness one step at a time.
Thank you!
The 1.2 challenge is a fun and simple walking challenge to help you improve your fitness, boost your mental well-being and help raise vital funds for OCD-UK. The funds raised by the challenge will ensure that we can be there for the 1.2% of the UK population affected by Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. We've designed our walking challenge so that it's easy to take part in, achievable and most importantly, fun to do!
