In October 2017 we're taking-on the challenge of cycling the mighty Grand Canyon, Colorado USA through to Las Vegas - almost 600kms over 6 days.
Again, we're fundraising for a charity with strong personal relevance - Brain Tumour Research. 15 years ago my mum died from a brain tumour aged only 57.
In May 2016, my son Adam was rushed into hospital having suffered 3 seizures, and a brain tumour was found. After an operation to remove the tumour, Adam then went through an intensive round of radiotherapy. He is now completed a course of chemotherapy, and getting back to normal, & getting on with his life. Having signed-up for the Grand Canyon cycle challenge at the same time as me back in Dec '15, Adam will be lining up alongside me in October this year.
Brain Tumours can strike anyone, of any age, at any time. So much more needs to be learned about this form of cancer, which in the UK receives less than 1% of national cancer funding. There are more than 120 different types, making diagnosis difficult.
Our fundraising will contribute to Brain Tumour Research's vision - to find a cure for Brain Tumours.
