Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Please donate if you can. I am aiming to raise a minimum of £500 for this worth cause.

I have added a little more to this challenge. Updated the text below:-)

I am riding 100 miles in the Prudential Ride London event in August. This is the cycling equivalent of the London Marathon. I am riding to raise funds for Bliss, to support them in their help for premature and sick babies. My own son was pretty poorly for a few weeks when he was born in 2007, so this charity really means a lot to me.

NEW 1! I have also added a couple of other events to my 2015 calendar, and have opted to do these in support of Bliss too. These are the Paras10 event in September. This is one of the event Parachute Regiment soldiers do to qualify as Paratroopers. Its 10 miles running, over nasty terrain, wearing boots, trousers, and carrying a 16kg backpack! I did it in 2012, and it hurts!

NEW 2! I will also be taking part in the Yorkshire Marathon in October. This takes place in York, and consists of the 26.2 mile standard marathon distance.

So this will be three pretty big events taking place over three months. There will be a lot of training to cover, and I am starting that in earnest right now. Wish me luck and to be free of injury!

Bliss was started by a group of concerned parents who had an experience of having a premature or sick baby in 1979.

From that small group of committed volunteers who fundraised to buy much needed equipment for neonatal units, we now aim to support the 80,000 babies admitted to neonatal care each year and their families.Bliss exists to ensure that all babies born too soon, too small or too sick in the UK have the best possible chance of survival and of reaching their full potential.

If you can find a pound or two to help these poor babies, we would be most grateful to you.

Thanks

Dave

Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. We rely on donations to fund our work but with one baby admitted to neonatal care every five minutes we don’t have the resources to reach every baby who needs us. Your donation can help Bliss ensure every baby gets the best care.
