Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Thank you to everyone who had supported me so far, unfortunately due to the bad weather the jump was cancelled and has been rearranged for Friday 17th August.
I am doing a skydive for Sarcoma UK on Saturday 16th June 2012 in memory of my wife Eraina who sadly passed away in October 2011.
Sarcoma is a rare form of cancer affecting bones and soft tissues, that can be very aggressive and affects people of all ages. There are approximately 3000 new cases each year and Sarcoma UK is the main charity raising money for research into causes and treatments, supporting patients carers and relatives.
Eraina was happy and healthy when she first noticed a small spot on her arm, after getting medical advice she initially believed it was nothing to worry about and would get better on its own.
Sarcoma is a very difficult cancer to diagnose and when she was finally diagnosed in May with angiosarcoma the options for treatment were very limited. Eraina underwent lifesaving major surgery and initailly made a good recovery, however the cancer returned only two months later. Eraina continued to fight the disease until she died , even going away on what she knew would be her last holiday.
Eraina suffered great pain and suffering during her illness, hopefully by raising awareness and supporting Sarcoma UK better treatments and early diagnosis will save lives.
