Story
I am taking part in #FitnessFebruary4Meso.
I lost my mother last year to Mesothelioma. A rarer form of cancer, my mum, Tess, received suport from Mesothelioma UK pretty much straight away from her diagnosis. I have always been proud of her, but as mum underwent treatments, procedures and examinations she did so with dignity, honour and bravery. To use a slight cliché, she battled on for as long as she could.
My mum was a warrior. I miss her every day.
To honour her memory, and those who are also fighting this dreadful disease, I want to raise some money for Fitness February for Mesothelioma UK.
I am not by any means an athlete. I have set myself a challenge that I can fit round my working hours, which is to do 50km a week on my trusty elliptical (cross trainer).
From Monday 1st February until Saturday 28th February, my challenge I've set myself is to do 10km per session of my elliptical machine Monday to Friday. I am slightly dubious on the accuracy of distance on any home workout machine, however the best way to look on it that I will go as fast as I can, non stop, per session until the display reaches 10km.
I will post daily updates on here to log my distance, time and heart rate / duration during the challenge. I will also update my social media platforms with evidence.
I know things are very tight for all, if you can spare anything at all it will be for a very good cause, to a charity which helped mum and continue to help so many others.
I hope with all of your help, I can smash my target - and thank you in advance for any support that is given. As I said, I know things are tight for all at the minute x
Don't forget to Gift Aid your donations so that the charity can get an extra 25% at no cost to you should you be kind enough to donate, and wish to to do this as well.
Love to all and keep safe, thanks for the read.
