Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year's fundraising event in memory of Peter Armstrong is called Islandmagee Re-Cycled 2013 and will be held on Saturday 11 May 2013.
The goal of the event is to raise funds to support A.M.M.F.
The Alan Morement Memorial Fund is the only UK registered charity working to raise funds for research into cholangiocarcinoma (CC), a liver cancer occurring within the bile ducts. More information can be found here:-
Last year was a very enjoyable and successful event where we raised a great deal of money for a good cause and had a lot of fun. The date, again, is significant as it would have been the weekend of my brother's birthday.
This year the plan is to make it bigger and better as follows:-
There will be two cycle routes;
Route 1 - 22 miles - route around Islandmagee (same as last year) – suitable for all.
Route 2 - 45 miles - route to be finalised – suitable for the more experienced cyclist.
Live music in the Marine;
A rocking evening of live music from local bands in the Marine Bar. Line-up to be confirmed.
There will be an entrance fee for the cycle of £5.00 this year to cover costs (i.e. insurance, refreshments etc), which is payable at registration on the day of the event.
So if you knew Peter, want to help raise money for a good cause or simply fancy a challenge and bit of craic, please let me know if you want to take part in the cycle.
Sponsorship forms can be downloaded from the AMMF website.
Detailed maps of the routes will be available in due course.
