Whittington Babies was established in 1986 by a group of parents whose babies had spent time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Special Care Baby Unit(SCBU) at Whittington Hospital in Highgate, North London. The Units care for 400 sick and premature babies every year. The Charity aims to support the families of babies who spend time in the Units via their parent support group.
- 1 in every 9 babies, or 80,000 babies are born premature or sick in the UK each year
- It costs £1,200 for one night's stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
- At least 400 babies are cared for each year in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Special Care Baby Unit
David Andrew have previously donated a Hungry Manikin and Mobile Breast Pump to the NICU, but Whittington Babies need so much more funding and equipment to continue with their incredible (and often life-saving work). Theo and Philip (an expectant first time father) are both hoping to raise funds on behalf of the company, to help support this wonderful charity. So please dig deep and donate what you can for this very worthy cause.
Your generosity and support is much appreciated!
