We visit people in detention at Gatwick to befriend and support them while detained

Story

On Sunday 2 April we ran our first marathon, in Paris, in support of Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group.

GDWG supports people who are indefinitely detained in detention centres at Gatwick Airport. Through Refugee Tales, GDWG calls for an immediate end to indefinite detention and a future without detention.

With your donations, GDWG can provide advocacy and give practical support to people during and after detention, enable volunteers to visit detained people, and work with people with lived experience of detention who call for change.

Thank you to everybody who has donated so generously so far. With your help we can reach our revised target.

All good wishes,

David & Lily

Our mission is to improve the welfare of people held in detention by offering friendship and support and advocating for fair treatment. We do this by visiting individuals, as well as working with other organisations to raise awareness of the call for a 28 day time limit to detention.
