We were told today that a collection was made at the event for the Mountain Rescue Teams of Kintail, Torridon and Dundonnel as is done every year and this is normally split 3 ways but this year they have decided to split it 4 ways and give a quarter to our fund in memory of Stuart.
£600 was collected and so £150 is going into our funds towards SARDA.
If you are reading this guys then a very big thank you for this very kind gesture, it really is very thoughtful of you.
Our total is continuing to rise and with the tax benefits we will get we will soon be approaching near to £1500.

Well we made it !!  Started at 10-00am on Saturday and had 5 or 6 hours of riding in reasonable weather then the dark came in and we had around 17 hours of darkness plus wind,rain,snow,sleet,hail and then some more sun. Brian kicked off then we took it in turns to do a lap a piece with Chris out second then Dave and finally Alisdair. All kept up a steady pace despite the conditions and we completed 26 laps in the 24 hours to finish in 24th place overall. So a great weekend and sore arses all round. Thank you so much to everyone who has so far donated and if you are reading this and have not yet bunged in a couple of quid, you can still do so, I really want to break the £1,000 barrier. Our team "The Old Puffers" will again be competing in the Strathpuffer 24 hour XC event in January 2009. Stuart was a member of our team last year and was to have joined us this year and so in memory of Stuart we have decided that we will do the event and get some sponsorship to support a charity that was close to his heart.
