Story
Hi Everybody
Well, that was a walk in the park. The first bit across Blackheath to the start was anyway. Got a little bit harder once the running started. The support all the way round was absolutely fantastic, with my name on my vest the support from total strangers was a real boost. The bands, sound systems and brass bands combined with the kids and grown ups offering sweets and orange segments to all the runners made me proud to be a Londoner and part of this fabulous London tradition. I had hoped to run the marathon in under 4 hours, but with the heat on the day I knew by the halfway stage this was unlikely, so rather than panic and try to make up time I stuck to my pace and concentrated on finishing. The last few miles were tough, but I'm happy to say I ran the whole distance and finished in 4-09-53. I'm very pleased with that time and couldn't imagine ever doing it quicker. As you can see the sponsorship is rapidly approaching target, so a BIG BIG thankyou to everyone for your support, encouragement and love, and much love and kisses to Geraldine, Laura, Joe and Charlie because without them I wouldn't have made it to the start line
Love Dave
