May 2023 marks Jo’s 18th
anniversary of being diagnosed with MS and although the celebrations have
changed a little, it is only for the better!
We started running in 2010, Dave completed his first London Marathon in 2011 and has completed it three times to date - Jo is slightly behind having only completed it twice. We both
did it in 2014 and 2016 and, after Jo got a place in the 2023 ballot, we have both registered for one last hurrah! The plan was to complete Brighton Marathon at the beginning of April, (which we did!) although Dave managed to do some nasty ligament damage on the way around - still, undeterred, we have transferred our places to the 2024 marathon. We still completed the Ride100 and will have taken on the ‘Swim the Serpentine’ challenge (but in the swimming pool!) by the end of the summer.
Since the plans have changed, Jo has got a place in the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April 2024 so this will be her last ‘tapper run’, friends have completed challenges including Zip Wires and quizzes, with all collected money coming to our fundraising page. We will be doing a sponsored walk in September and everyone
is welcome to join us for that – watch this space and we’ll keep you posted!
We have decided to do all events in aid of the MS Trust but this year there will be no 'personal bests' or ground breaking times; in competition with ourselves only, the objectives are to finish in one piece, enjoy the events and raise as much money as we can for this fantastic charity.
