Dad died on July 20 after living with leukaemia for nine months. During that time, he received incredible care at the Sir Robert Ogden Centre at Harrogate Hospital, and our family is hugely grateful.
During chemotherapy, transfusions and all manner of other medical procedures, the expertise, advice and compassion provided by doctors, nurses and all the other NHS and Macmillan staff made a huge, positive difference to Dad and all of us during a very difficult period. Between May and July, he was a daily visitor to the Ogden Centre but even prior to that, he had already come to know and trust the staff as friends.
Dad made this very clear: rather than flowers at his funeral, he hoped instead that his family and friends might help the Sir Robert Ogden Centre continue their fabulous work for the benefit of all cancer patients in the Harrogate area.
We are extremely grateful for any and all contributions in his memory.
Thank you.
