Dan and myself are completing the Welsh 3000's in memory of Sophie. Visit the website for more information on our challenge. http://www.welsh3000s.co.uk/
The day Sophie was told her cancer was terminal has to be the hardest of my life. If it was hard for me I can't even begin to imagine how Sophie managed to deal with being told this, but she always was a fighter and was determined to continue to fight until the very end.
Those that knew Sophie will be aware of how much pride she took in her appearance, in particular her beautiful hair. I distinctly remember coming back from a few days away and due to her chemotherapy, her hair beginning to fall out. There are no words to explain how this affected Sophie. The prospect of losing her hair and having to wear a wig or head scarf devastated her. Then she got in contact with My New Hair.
The day that Sophie walked into the flat with her new wig she beamed at me and for a second it was like her illness had gone. The confidence and happiness this brought her was truly amazing. I remember commenting how she should have cut her hair to the length of the wig before. She looked amazing!
This charity gave Sophie more than just a professionally styled wig; it gave her so much more.
Please give generously to this amazing cause.
