Story
On Sunday 25th September, I will be running the Great Bristol Half-Marathon (12 weeks between Couch to Half-Marathon) in support of St Peter’s Hospice.
I have chosen this charity because they provided the best possible care to my Dad and myself during his illness in 2015 and I want to help them provide that care to others. This is my first race and half-marathon and as a fundraiser, so please consider giving – it will mean a lot to me!
Please see below examples of Hospice Care:
£12.00 = a call to our 24-hour advice line
£16.00 = two hot meals for a patient
£33.45 = an hour of care for a patient in the comfort of their home
£216.61 = a hospice nurse spending a night in a patient's home
£1,331.00 = total average cost of caring for a patient in their home
St Peter's Hospice is Bristol's ONLY adult hospice caring for local people with life-limiting illnesses. Our commitment is to improve the quality of life of patients while extending care and support to their families and loved ones. All of our care is provided free of charge, but it costs us around £20,000 a day to provide that care. For most of this money we rely on Gifts in Wills, donations, fundraising and our shops.
