Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year my charity challenge is definately the most severe to date (I know I always say this - but I am actually worried about this one). Jason Fraser persuaded me following my 100 mile ride last year (Manchester 100 ride) to join him on this one - I just hope I can survive it!

The Fred Whitton Challenge is a gruelling 112 mile sportive challenge ride for charity around the Lake District, run in memory of Fred Whitton. It starts & finishes at Coniston, and the route includes the climbs of Kirkstone, Honister, Newlands, Whinlatter, Hardknott & Wrynose passes. Anyone who has actually walked in this area will know that it is hard to walk up these passes - even the car struggles - so to ride up here you have to be completely mad (and fit of course). Fred Whitton was nursed by Macmillan nurses at the end of his life so all I raise this year will go to the Macmillan Cancer Support who improve the lives of people affected by cancer. Macmillan provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. As Cancer affects us all - we can all help.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
