Shine Cancer Support are incredible! They provide vital support, information and advice to people throughout the UK in their 20s, 30s & 40s who have cancer, or are suffering the affects of cancer.

I was diagnosed with kidney cancer early last year. It hit me like a sledgehammer. How could I have cancer?! Surely I'm too young? I was a healthy 41 year old, why me?

Cancer is becoming more common in younger adults and, although there are many fantastic cancer charities doing great work, there is little support tailored to the needs, fears and hopes of this age group.

I was incredibly lucky, part of the kidney was removed and I have been given the all clear - I'm cancer free! But there were some very dark days, I had a lot of questions, and a bit of anger too. I was helped through it all by friends, family and some very wise words and helpful support from Shine.

If you can give a few pounds to this fantastic charity it would be incredible. But if not, please spread the word of the help & support that Shine can give. Cancer is a horrible thing, and there are a lot of people whose lives can be made immeasurably better by knowing Shine are there to help them as they experience it.

I'm walking the length of Hadrian's wall on my own over 6 days, carrying all my equipment, cooking my meals and camping in my tent along the way. The walk is for me - to have some time where I'm genuinely alone and to prove to myself that I'm fit & well. But I also want to do something to support Shine. They're a small charity so every penny really does count. The more people who know about them, the more people they can support.
