Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
For some reason known only to Bacchus, the god of wine, we (Alex aged 32 and Dave aged 62) have decided to take on their first ever marathon in Brighton in April to raise money for the Tiny Toes charity, and particularly the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Kent.
The reason this is so close to our hearts is that in October last year Kieran (son of Dave, brother of Alex) and his partner Becky’s baby, Finnley, was born prematurely and despite the fantastic care and support from all the doctors, nurses and support staff at the NICU in Ashford he sadly passed away in their arms a few days later (read their story here). Most of us can only imagine how devastating it must be to lose a child.
At the time of writing Becky and Kieran have managed to raise over £4000 for the Tiny Toes Charity that will go a long way to help the NICU staff at the William Harvey Hospital provide exceptional care for the new born babies as well as amazing support and comfort to parents who find themselves in the awful situation of their child fighting for its life.
