Story
I'm taking part in the Race to the Base in support of my local air ambulance service. The Great North Air Ambulance Service provides world-class, critical care across the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Their doctor-led critical care team delivers life-saving treatments at the scene of an incident whether that is on a fell top, a roadside or in a city centre. The charity responded to over 1,200 emergency call-outs last year (2020), where they performed treatments and procedures which can mean the difference between life or death. I recently received a health-related letter which gave me a bit of a shock so had a good look at my lifestyle. I've started walking, and this a great incentive to keep going whilst raising money for a great charity. 130 miles to go!
