Story
My name is Dennis and I am nearly 89 years young. In September 2021 I moved to Dashwood Manor in Basingstoke, a care home owned by Care UK.
Care UK offer each resident the opportunity to wish for something that we have always wanted to do. When I hung my wish on the tree, I never imagined it becoming a reality! The staff at Dashwood Manor have gone above and beyond to make this happen. These wishes can be big or small – from trying cocktails on a Friday, to visiting the Vatican and meeting the Pope!
My wish was to jump out of a plane and free fall for as long as possible. Although this idea seems scary... I am counting down the days until my dream comes true. I will be jumping at 15,000 feet with free fall of 60 seconds. I have persuaded two staff members to jump along side me - Eileen Coyle-Jones and Leahanne Wilkinson. They are both very excited to share such an experience.
I have chosen to fundraise for Marie Curie. Marie Curie is the UK's largest charitable funder of palliative and end of life care research. Marie Curie nurses offer free nursing care to people living with all terminal illnesses and support for their families.
Every donation counts, so please give as much or as little as you can! Sharing this page with your friends or family on social media will also be hugely appreciated.
