In memory of Helen Wearring
Nightingale House introduces its next spectacular overseas challenge. This classic Inca Trail encompasses 3 high mountain passes culminating in the unforgettable sight of Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate mirrored with views across the Andes.

Story

I've decided to take on the Inca Trail Challenge in Peru to help raise much needed funds for Nightingale House Hospice, where Helen spent her last few weeks. Their care for her was exceptional, keeping her as comfortable as possible, enabling us to spend precious time with her, and we all still receive ongoing counselling support from their wonderful team.

The Inca Trail itself is a 4-day, 30 mile, hike/climb through mountain passes at high altitudes up to 4,200 meters (13,750 feet) above sea level! It will involve camping out on the mountainside for 3 nights and ends with a pre-dawn trek to view the sun rising over Machu Picchu! I'll be joining around 30 others on this trip - all raising money for the hospice, many who will also have lost a partner or loved one.

Every penny raised will help the hospice in their work caring for local people with life-limiting illness and their families, as well as children experiencing bereavement.
