Story
Hi all.
UPDATE! I successfully run a Lockdown Marathon on Saturday 5th September in 3 hours and 24 minutes. The goal was 3h 30m so I am absolutely over the moon with the result! And how much has been raised, thank you for all for your donations.
We are putting our running shoes on and hitting the tarmac in preparation for the Brighton Marathon! We will be heading down to Brighton on Sunday 19th April 2020 to run for the amazing Crohn’s and Colitis UK.
Crohn’s Disease is a condition that causes inflammation of the digestive system (also known as the gastrointestinal tract or gut). Inflammation is the body’s reaction to injury or irritation, and can cause redness, swelling and pain. At present there is no cure for Crohn’s, but drugs, and sometimes surgery, can give long periods of relief from symptoms.
Our good friend Sam has Crohn’s, and he’ll modestly tell you it’s no fun at all. He has lost nearly half his body weight in the few years since diagnosis. In and out of hospital, Sam’s situation culminated in an extended stay in hospital due to malnutrition a year ago. He had an operation to help improve his gut and relieve pain– but it didn’t take.
He’s now about to partake in an experimental and risky trial. We are all fully behind him.
Money given to the charity is used to help support our Sam and others suffering with the disease. You never know, your tenner could fuel the breakthrough to help cure Crohn’s or Colitis. All donations massively appreciated!

Wish us luck!
Cheers, Mike and Daryl. (And Sam). X
