Fundraising for Lymphoma Action
Story
In September 2020 I was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma after a period of time of not being well. Within a week of being told that i had Hodgkins lymphoma i was put on a 6 month chemotherapy course of ABVD. This was a massive shock as no one ever expects to be told that they have Cancer let alone someone that has always been fit and healthy and never had a blood test until 31 years of age.
Luckily for me after my 6 month course i was told that the Hodgkins lymphoma had gone into remission and that hopefully signs are good that it won't come back. As I'm writing this now 12 months after chemotherapy finished I am feeling as healthy as i was before i became ill.
I have always wanted to run the London Marathon but never really had a reason to push myself. Fast forward to 2nd October 2022 i will be running in aid of Lymphoma Action which is the UK's only charity dedicated to Lymphoma. The 2nd of October 2022 (the day of the marathon) will also mark two years to the day that i started my Chemotherapy and what better way to put two fingers up to cancer than running a Marathon. Lymphoma action aided me when i was diagnosed by giving me accurate information on Hodkins Lymphoma and i believe if it wasnt for charities like them then the specialist treatment that i recieved would not have been as efficient.
