Story
Next year I will be running the London Marathon for The Mental Health Foundation. Mental illness and its destructive nature leaves millions feeling helpless and embarrassed. In an ideal world when someone is ill they should feel like they can ask for help and that it is not their fault they are ill, however sadly this isn't reality. Support for such charities is a small but vital step to spread awareness and recognition of mental illness and that it is as viable for treatment as any other illness. Mental illness can affect anyone regardless of lifestyle and is often fought in solitude. Sadly some lose their battles for reasons which can change. The taboo and stigma surrounding these illnesses are irrational and unfair. Illness isn't weakness and to admit you have a problem is beyond courageous. The Mental Health Foundation is the UK’s charity for everyone’s mental health. With prevention at the heart of what they do, the Mental Health Foundation aim to find and address the sources of mental health problems so that people and communities can thrive. I would really appreciate any support and donation of any sum as this charity is so deserving of it. Hopefully after 26.2 miles i'll be smiling knowing that its all been worth it for this amazing charity.
