Story
As those that know me well, I’m an enthusiastic runner, having taken up a keen interest since January 2018. This autumn I plan to keep pushing my personal limits further to fundraise for The Unbeatable Eva Foundation through a series of half and full marathons. Over an eight week period I will be participating in a series of events including:
11 September 2022 - The Great North Run - COMPLETED ⏱ 1:45:41
2 October 2022 - London Marathon - COMPLETED ⏱ 3:16:21
16 October 2022 - Oxford Half Marathon - COMPLETED ⏱️ 1:29:06
6 November 2022 - New York Marathon
This will be my second time running the London Marathon after 2021 - and only my third ever marathon after Dublin in 2019 and London in 2021. I will then run the New York Marathon for the first time in November, alongside my wife Michelle.
I would be grateful of any support in helping to raise awareness and funds for this incredible cause.

At Christie & Co and Christie Finance, we are proud to have focused on fundraising for various charities over the years.
Each year, a new charity is suggested and voted for by our brilliant staff across the UK and Europe and, for 2022/2023, we have chosen to support The Unbeatable Eva Foundation which was recommended by a colleague with a close connection to the charity’s founders.
The Unbeatable Eva Foundation was set up by Paul Slapa and Carran Williams who lost their nine-year-old daughter to an incurable childhood brain cancer called DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma).
The pair tried to raise funds to get treatment in the US and even appeared on Children in Need. Following Eva’s passing in 2021, they have continued this amazing Foundation to help other families who receive this diagnosis.
Each year, around 30 to 40 children in the UK are diagnosed with DIPG and, as of today, there are no medical options other than standard radiotherapy – the same treatment which was offered to children 60+ years ago. The Unbeatable Eva Foundation helps support families with a child diagnosed with DIPG by supporting medical research and sending gift boxes, so the children have fun memories.
Our amazing team of staff will be fundraising through various events throughout this year and next, and as a smaller charity, each penny raised can really make a difference, so we are very grateful for every donation received.
If you would prefer to set up a monthly donation or purchase some wonderful merchandise, you can do so through the charity’s online shop: https://www.unbeatableeva.co.uk/shop
