Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page, which has been set up to raise funds for the NHS Velindre Cancer Centre.
In March (2023), a team of 16 people will attempt this incredibly difficult challenge - to transverse a 100km route across the Arctic in snowshoes.
The support team has been assessed and assembled, the pulk sleds booked, all we need now is a bit of support from our wonderful communities. Any amount you can spare would go to support Cancer sufferers throughout Wales.
We will attempt to cover the 100km in 7 days, crossing frozen lakes, skirting ancient glaziers, pass by the villages of the indigenous Sami people, witness some of the most stunning scenery on the planet and hopefully get a glimpse of the Northern Lights, whilst raising much needed funds for Velindre Cancer Centre.
For all those who have had loved ones who have benefitted from the amazing work Velindre carry out daily, you will understand why I am supporting this fantastic cause. My own father who has received fantastic treatment and support for both prostate and bowel cancer has been the catalyst and drive for me to attempt to raise as much money as possible in support of Velindre.
Velindre, the Hospital of Hope has been providing specialist treatment and supportive care to cancer patients and families for over 65 years.Money raised for Velindre Charity helps fund ground breaking research and clinical trials, cutting edge treatments, specialist nurses, support services, therapies, equipment and so much more which are above those provided by the NHS – so donations really do have a significant impact on patients and their families.Your donation will allow Velindre to continue to provide Hope for the future.
