Story
Right now my family is going through the pain caused by Prostate Cancer. My wife's father, my friend, a great man dealing with a late diagnosis and a life shortening outcome.
The wider impact on the family is horrible to witness and there's no turning back.
I'm hoping doing a stupid thing like 72 golf holes, 4 rounds of golf in one day will help raise some much needed funds but better still some much needed awareness to my age group.
Get yourself checked. Early diagnosis is everything. Trust me, dont leave it to chance.
I'd like to thank my playing partners for the day my son Harry and good friends Chris and Alun and a big shout out to Creigiau Golf Club who are hosting us for the day. Thank you for making it possible creigiaugolfclub.co.uk
We start at 5am on Monday 12th July. Each round is about 6.5miles and 80 shots so that's 26 miles, 72 holes and around 320-340 golf shots between dawn and dusk.
My good friend Alun Brace doesn't have access to technology so we are sharing a page - sponsor me and you sponsor him too; two for the price of one :)
A bit about the charity:-
Prostate Cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK, killing one man every 45 minutes in the UK. Thats the same time it takes to play three holes of golf. The money raised by this challenge will help fund research into life-saving treatments for prostate cancer and provide practical support to men and their families.
