Just under a year ago, I was diagnosed with cancer of the tonsils, glands and lymph nodes. As you can imagine it was a shock and a total whirlwind.

My treatment at Weston Park Hospital was tough but the kindness and professionalism of all of the staff there totally got me through and I'm pleased to say that I'm on the recovery trail.

I was totally wowed by the support of the doctors, nurses and volunteers there and I feel it's time to give something back. I've set a modest target of just £150. There are people attending the hospital who are less fortunate and less able than me and they deserve this.

My friends raised £2000 for Macmillan just because I was sick. I did nothing but get ill....now I'm doing something...a 10k race and I haven't run for over a year. Please give me money!!
