Great North Run 2021 · 12 September 2021 ·
On Sunday the 12th of September, we'll be taking part in the Great North Run in memory of our Grandpa, Peter Stewart, and to raise funds for MND Scotland.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a rapidly progressing illness, which affects signals from the brain reaching the muscles. When our Grandpa was diagnosed with MND, there wasn't a lot of awareness or information about it. Thankfully that's changed in more recent years, thanks to the brave battles of people like Doddie Weir and Rob Burrow, as well as the infamous ice bucket challenge.
MND Scotland is the leading charity in Scotland providing care and support to people affected by Motor Neurone Disease, as well as funding vital research into finding a cure. We'll be running the half marathon to help them continue their amazing work.
