Jessica’s Hospice Challenge · 29 June 2020

We care for patients with a range of needs including symptom management, rehabilitation as well as end of life care. Our goal is to provide physical, psychological, social and spiritual care for our patients and their loved ones in a calm, peaceful and welcoming environment.

Story

During lockdown, Jessica took the plunge and started riding her bike with no stabilisers. Along with her fellow Primary 1s at Knowetop Primary School, she held a virtual teddy bears picnic to raise awareness of St Andrew’s Hospice and she decided she wanted to raise money for such a good cause.

The distance from her house to the hospice is 9 miles so she will ride the equivalent distance of to and from the hospice between Saturday 20 June and Monday 29 June.

St. Andrew’s Hospice endeavours to provide a high standard of specialist palliative care to the people of Lanarkshire, encompassing human dignity and compassion. As Lanarkshire's only specialist palliative care hospice, we provide multidisciplinary support for our patients, their families and carers. Whilst we receive funding from NHS Lanarkshire and other sources, this only partially covers our running costs. Continued provision of these services is only made possible by the generosity and assistance of the people of Lanarkshire.
