Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of our friends and family know, our second Granddaughter, Emilia-May Poppy Kennedy (pictured), was born at 24 weeks, on Remembrance Day. Without the amazing staff in the Liverpool Women’s Hospital NICU, our little bundle of love wouldn't be in the fantastic position she is in now. There's still a long way to go, and it's been a very rocky road thus far, but Emilia is growing stronger by the day. She won't be coming home for a while yet as she still needs a lot of care.
To show my appreciation and support to these heroic doctors and nurses, over the 2nd - 3rd April I shall be walking 100km in 24 hours to raise funds for this much needed department. If you can help, any donation would be greatly appreciated by myself, my family and the very deserving staff off the NICU. Thank you.

Update 02/01/2021

Unfortunately, I have the most heartbreaking news about Emilia-May. Due to her being born so premature and with the related complications that come with it, she sadly went to sleep in the loving arms of her parents on the afternoon of New Years Eve. I can't thank the staff of the NICU enough for everything they did for our little angel. She fought with everything she had for 51 days. Sadly, she just didn't have the strength to see the fight through. To that end I'm dedicating my challenge to her memory with renewed determination. Please share our story as far as possible so we can raise as much money for the unsung heroes that do so much for our little fighters. Again I thank everyone who has been so generous in these difficult times. Every penny will make a difference to a life that needs it.
