Hello friends,

 

On May 4th I will be partaking in TOUGH MUDDER in Northamptonshire, a 12 mile obstacle course designed by the Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie…so basically there is a world of pain coming my way! (http://toughmudder.co.uk/). I have decided to raise money for the Rachel Appolinari Memorial Fund. My good friend Francesca Appolinari sadly lost her younger sister Rachel in June 2011, due to a rare Brain Tumour. This memorial fund is in aid of the Edinburgh Centre for Neuro - oncology at The Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. Money raised will contribute to research in order to prevent others having to suffer similar heartache. Francesca and her family have astounded me with their strength and determination to help others.

 

Information about the Rachel Appolinari Memorial Fund: 

Rachel Appolinari was an extraordinary young woman, her 19 years on this world were filled with happy memories and countless experiences that her family and friends will cherish and learn from. To say she shall be missed by many is to state the obvious.

 

This memorial fund is in aid of the Edinburgh Centre for Neuro - oncology at The Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. The care Rachel received at the Western was of the highest standard and the mutual respect and bond that Rachel and her family built with her carers has propelled us into action. Going forward we want to help others with similar and related diagnosis. There is much research to be done if we are to help ease and indeed cure many types of Brain tumours and we are convinced that through some hard work and generous donating we can improve and prevent other families heartache. Please help us to help others, in Rachel's name.
