In early 2021, my mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. This news would be one of the most traumatic events of anyone's life at the best of times...........

Now factor in that this diagnosis was delivered during the Covid-19 lockdown, and you can only imagine what my Mum went through with no family or friends allowed to visit to support her.

The absence of the family support network meant that the role McMillan played during the treatment was even more pivotal in than normal. They were there for her every step of the way and quite frankly we don't think she could have coped without the amazing work they do.

I am delighted to say that after extensive treatment and a number of surgical procedures my Mum appears to be winning the battle against Cancer. It is now time for us to thank the McMillan team for being there when us as family could not.

On Thurs 23rd Sep 2021 our team of 6 will set out to take on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Route is 24 miles (38.6km) and includes 5,200ft (1,585m) of ascent. The non stop route takes on the 3 highest peaks in Yorkshire - Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.

We would ask that our friends, family and colleagues support us by donating to this amazing charity. Each member of the challenge team have been touched by their work at some point in their lives and now we feel it is our turn to give a little back.
