Story
In 2012 I was pushing 18 stone and was challenged by a friend to do an Triathlon. The challenge was if I finish a triathlon my friend would give £50 to a charity of my choice. The very same day I heard my uncle had died from myloma, a very rare form of cancer. 6 months later and 4½ stone lighter I completed the Anglesey Sandman triathlon, raising £1,175 for Myloma UK. My life would never be the same again.
This year I've decided to step things up a little and have signed up to compete in Ironman UK in aid of Scope. Ironman consists of a 3.8km swim, 180km bike and then just a little marathon to finish. The cut-off time is 17 hours and I intend to use every second of it.
Please encourage my by donating and help me raise my target for scope.
"Scope exists to make this country a place where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else."
You can even text a donation by texting DRIM75 plus your amount to 70070. For example if you wish to donate £5, txt DRIM75 £5 to 70070.
Also please remember it's not all about race day. I'm planning on training somewhere in the region of 200 hours just to get to the start line. That in itself is challenge enough. I'd love to see my fundrising total increase as I train, what better way to motivate me into getting into the best shape of my life?
