My career in cycling to date has been modest to say the least. I learnt to ride at an early age - progressing through the ranks of Chipie, Budgie, Chopper, Boxer, Grifter before my last childhood bike a BMX. Once again this was a Raleigh bike - they were seemingly the only bike manufacturer around back then.... I left biking alone in my twenties, my 'wilderness years' only to return to the sport in my late 30's. Bikes haven't changed too much but the price has certainly increased. I have taken part in a few endurance rides in the last five years, the coast to coast, London to Paris are two that spring to mind but never will I have ridden for so long during one day.
I am looking forward to trying to emulate my great heroes in cycling and trying to complete the ride over some of Yorkshire's beautiful but undulating countryside. Please give generously in support of my favourite charity and wish me look for the ride.
