Story
I am running for my mother in law Barb. She was only 59 when she sadly passed away last August after a short battle with cancer. The nurses at Mountbatten looked after her in her final days, they were so caring and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for the work you do.
I’m not setting a fundraising goal, I’m just hoping to raise as much as I can so as many people as possible can be looked after in the amazing way Barb was.
I am aiming to finish in less than 5 hours but as this is my first marathon we’ll have to see how the day goes!
Mountbatten-Hampshire (formerly Countess Mountbatten Hospice) is a charity which provides free care and support to people with any life-limiting illness, including respiratory disease, Motor Neurone Disease, heart disease, advanced dementia and cancer. We also provide free bereavement and psychological support to patients and their families. We are an independent charity which, each and every year, must raise more than £7m to ensure we can care for the growing number of people who need us.
