Hi everyone and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Please help me raise money for St Wilfrid's Hospice, Chichester when I run the Brighton Marathon on April 18th 2010.
At any one time the hospice cares for about 210 people in the local community and supports their family and friends. All their services are provided free of charge and they are not part of the NHS. They rely on public support to raise 90% of their annual running costs of 4.8 million.
I know this is a huge challenge. It will be the furthest I have ever run and it really won't be easy, but I know I can do it and I will be doing it for such a great cause that I will keep going no matter what. So please donate, whatever the amount.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thanks for your support and now I'd better get training!
Darren
Hey Everyone,
Thanks to everyone who has donated, just thought i'd bring you up to date with my training now the day of the marathon is nearly here. Training has gone quite well, but im not going to win it lol, i'm planning on finishing in under four hours which for my first marathon i'd be very pleased with. All my hard training long runs are over now so im gonna give my knees a much earned rest before the big day.
Thanks again for all your support and kind words
Darren
