As most are aware I like to keep myself busy, and enjoy fundraising/giving something back in the process. For the last 18 months I have been keen to get involved with a mental health charity as now more than ever there are record numbers of people relying on their services, and this cause means alot to me. 

After being brought up in a small town where everyone knew everyone, I sadly witnessed the complete devastation that untreated mental health issues can create, and over the years have seen this more and more. Thankfully awareness and acceptance of these issues is starting to improve, but there is still a long way to go, and I for one want to help however I can. 

Following discussions with Mental Health Aberdeen (MHA) over the last couple months, I was excited to hear of their plans to relocate to a prime location in Aberdeen City centre, which will inevitably make it easier for people to access their services. Their plans to fully refurbish the building and create 9 counselling rooms and a training facility will also give staff the working environment they need to provide a first class service to those in need.

Given my background and passion for the construction industry, I was of course delighted to accept a voluntary position with the charity as the Project Consultant, helping oversee the project from vision to completion 😁

With us now starting to gain our freedom again after a long 18 months, I believe this centre is going to be a massive benifit to the people of Aberdeen and shire, and can't wait to see it finished/open, ready to support those who need it. 

Unlike my previous fundraisers, this challenge is open to anybody and I'd love to have you join me either on one or all four runs, and for you to fundraise along side me to support this MHA project.😁

Times are still to be confirmed but ultimately I want to be at top for sunrise and again for the sunset.

I also want to dedicate this challange to the friends I knew from Foggie, Turriff and Huntly that sadly lost their daily battle against their mental health 😭 RIP
