Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've decided to run the Leeds Half Marathon again to try and raise more money for The Sick Children's Trust to keep saying thank you to them for the help and support they offered us when me and Caroline and our families Were having such a difficult time when our precious girl Ruby was born in September 2010.
For those that dont know, Ruby got into difficulty during her birth and within a couple of hours of her being born for rushed to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment. upon arrival, we were offered a place to stay with The Sick Childrens Trust in Eckersley House which was situated directly across from the Childrens Ward at the hospital.
This allowed us to be 30 seconds away from rubys bedside and supply a 'home from home' from which we could try and get some sleep and feel comfortable. The 7 days we spent there while ruby recovered were made alot more bearable by having this facility... A facility which i wasnt aware existed until we needed it.
Even though we were only there for a week, we met people who had been there for months due to the seriousness of their childrens health and not having this facility would make things even more difficult for these familys who are already going through a tough time.
Two years ago when i ran this race i raised over £800 for the charity, my aim this time is to raise over £1000 so please be generous.
