Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Well fingers crossed for 2021 so can complete what I started out to do last year, the London Classics (London Marathon, Ride London and Swim Serpentine). Last year I had to adjust and complete two of the events virtually. I rode the 100 miles of RideLondon in August by riding to Hastings and back. I then run the virtual London Marathon in October by completing a marathon distance near where I live. Unfortunately Swim Serpentine was cancelled. This year, finger crossed COVID is not still disrupting events, I will be completing my London Classics by swimming in Swim Serpentine on the 18th September and then finally getting to run the marathon on the streets on London on October 3rd.

All this is in memory of a young lady our family lost in February 2019. This young lady was only 18 years old and had a short but brave battle against first suffering a stroke, and then the hospital finding she had an incurable and untreatable Liver Cancer. This young lady was my Niece Jordan and she fought bravely for 3 months, living life to the full, before the battle was lost to the heartbreak of our family and all her friends, but especially my Sister Michelle, Brother-Law Rob and her Big Brother Luke and his girlfriend Molly.

Jordan was a very talented footballer, playing at a high standard in the Ladies footballing world. During her short battle she received so much support from the wider football family and celebrities, including a special message from Louis Tomlinson from One Direction and David De Gea from Man U. She was even remembered on the BBC sports personality of the year show in December 2019.

I have chosen to raise as much as I can for Clic Sergeant in her memory, as they were one of the wonderful charities to help her and my sisters family in the last few months of Jordan's life. I wish I could raise money for all the others, but I had to pick just 1 to get my place in the Marathon, so I chose Clic Sergeant, who are an amazing charity.

I had set a goal of £2000, but I want to raise more as Charities have struggled over the last year due to COVID, So thank you for reading my page and donating for this amazing charity.
