Story
Graeme’s relationship with Theo.
Graeme was a kind, caring and loving person. He did lots for others by doing one of the things he loved most- being Santa. Graeme and Theo were neighbours, and very close friends, Graeme loved seeing Theo grow into the determined, young superhero he is. They had a very strong bond between them and Graeme took great delight in being Theo’s very own Santa- he loved watching Theo’s face light up when Santa visited him on Christmas Eve. These are memories that Theo can cherish forever.

Theo’s Journey.
Theo is now a Kidscan ambassador, when Theo was 3 years old in September 2018, he was admitted to Manchester Royal Children’s Hospital with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. In May 2020, Theo caught Covid and 2 weeks later in June he relapsed , this time going to the Spinal fluid and the brain. Theo then started yet again, intensive Chemo and radiation before going for a bone marrow transplant in November 2020, where he spent 3 long months in hospital, waiting for his body to accept the new bone marrow that was given by an amazing lady from Holland. She saved our little boys life and for that and all of the doctors help we can not thank these people enough.
Kidscan-
In the UK, 20% of children diagnosed with cancer will not survive because treatment options are limited. Of those who do survive, 60% will go on to develop life altering disabilities that can include hearing loss, infertility, mobility issues, lung & breathing problems and even heart failure. Know as Late-effects these disabilities occur because current treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy can cause lasting damage to the healthy cells in children's growing bodies. Late effects can appear long after treatment, are progressive and can even shorten life expectancy.By investing in research across the UK, Kidscanare dedicated to both improving survival rates and eliminating the late effects that current treatments cause. With your help, we can create a world where every child diagnosed with cancer can survive and go on to live the long healthy lives they deserve.
