Story
In Spring 2020 Joseph McPherson left the British Army after receiving Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to treat his PTSD from the army mental health team. Despite a difficult day here and there, he is now able to live life happily and truly appreciates the work of the doctors, medical staff and therapists that supported him. Two years later, he thought about what he could do to give back to he community that gave him the support he needed when he was at his lowest. He called his close friends, created a team and came up with a plan.. On the 22nd October 2022, Travis Tarrant, Joseph Burgess, Matthew Morris, Henry Henderson, Daniel Woodcock and Joseph McPherson will be conducting a loaded march over 100 kilometres from London's Admiralty Arch to Brighton Pier within 24 hours. They will each do this with 15 Kilograms of weight on their back to mimic a British Army TAB, a forced march carrying a heavy backpack over a long distance, usually ending in battle. All money raised will go to SSAFA - The Armed Forces Charity. SSAFA support current and ex serving armed forces members with addiction, relationship breakdown, debt, homelessness, post-traumatic stress, depression and disability. SSAFA is committed to helping our brave men and women overcome these problems and rebuild their lives.
