Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 2014 · 10 August 2014 ·

Every day 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. With your help, we can be there when people need us most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you raise will help create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.

Story

Thanks in advance for the donation :)

I issued my self with a challenge to give something back to a charity that does so much ( oh and get myself into shape after an absence form serious exercise for a few years)

Why? Its been just over 4 years since I had eye surgery to recover the loss of sight in my left eye ( just over a year all in). I recently stopped taking the drugs to prevent my corneal graft from rejecting. This rIde is my way of drawing attention to those that need more help than I.

The experience exposed me to the work the RNIB do and also the needs of people with more serious long term visual impairment than I. The RNIB's work is broad ranging, from the translation of books into audio through Audio Description on TV to tireless promotion of their accessibility standards for the web

Give a little to a help a lot  - 1 in 30 of us in the UK have sight issues

Thanks for your support

Dan
