Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support
Hi, The Internet,
I've apparently gone insane and have decided to run non-stop for 13 miles on April 25th, 2010 at the Sheffield Half-Marathon! Apart from it looking strangely entertaining, and being a good excuse to keep fit, I thought it'd be a great opportunity for some fundraising too, and that's where you come in.I'm part of Team Macmillan, which means I'm raising money for the Macmillan Cancer Support Charity. My father, John Hough, died from cancer in 2001, but during his illness he was fortunate enough to have the support of the wonderful Macmillan nurses, who provided supported and cared for him as best they can. So naturally I'd like to give back a little so they can continue doing what they do, and this is my way of doing it. If you want to know more about Macmillan and the awesome stuff they're doing to improve the lives of cancer patients in the UK, check out their website: http://www.macmillan.org.ukAnything you can give would be a great help, because it all adds up y'see! My target is £500, so let's break it down: if I send this out to all my Facebook friends (and I'm going to!), and each of them gives £2, I've almost hit four times my target, which is pretty insane. You may be one of those Facebook friends, and even if you don't know me very well, I'd really appreciate your donation and you are an awesome person, thanks :)Much Love,* Charities pay a small fee for our service.
