Story
The Management team of Danone ELN UK will be tackling the 3 Peaks Challenge in June 2014. This is an endurance event which includes climbing the highest mountain in England, Scotland and Wales over 24 hours. We will start with Ben Nevis early Saturday morning on the 21st June then travel to Scarfell Pike in the Lake District and finally tackle Snowdon in the early hours of Sunday morning. In total over 3,000 metres of mountain to climb up and down. As you can imagine we have a gruelling training plan!
We will be fund raising for the MS Society which is the UK's leading charity dedicated to beating multiple sclerosis.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition of the central nervous system and around 100,000 people in the UK have MS.
As yet what causes MS is not known and as yet there is no cure, but research is progressing fast.
We have chosen this charity as Liz's husband was diagnosed with MS around 15 years ago and other employees in our company also have very personal experiences with dealing with the impact of MS on their and their families lives.
The Danone business will also be matching any cash raised for the MS society up to £10,000 each for 2 charities. Great Ormond Street Childrens Charity which provides world class care for its young patients and their families and Stepping Stones a local charity based in Trowbridge supporting children with learning difficulties and their parents.
Please support these 3 very worthy causes and donate through our Just Giving site..
