Story
Firstly, if you have made it this far, thank you for clicking on the page and reading my story.
It has been years since I have done any running or exercise, let alone the amount I have committed to. As I write this, I have realized that by the end of the marathon on 23rd April 2023, including my training, I would have run 870KM ( 540 Miles) Since I decided to undertake this challenge.
In 2022 I found myself struggling with hurdles in my life. This coupled with a constant battle to see my youngest son, who I had not seen for the past year and a half. I was starting to struggle.
As a result, I decided I needed a focus and to set myself a challenge to help me get through what I was going through and raise some money for the Mind charity. Sadly there are people not with us today who I'm sure could have benefited from the work the Mind charity offers, and if Raising money can help just one person get the help they need, it would have been worth it. To this end, I have successfully been accepted to run the London Marathon on 23rd April 2023 in aid of the Mind charity.
Sadly, we are living in unprecedented times, with casualties, and I hope that raising money for Mind will help people facing challenges in their lives get the help they need.
I run in memory of my Uncle Gaz and our friend Graham who fought a long fight against mental illness; you are in my thoughts as I run mile upon mile.
So please dig deep; it’s for a fantastic cause and will undoubtedly stand to help people who need it.
