We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

Once again I have decided with my family to take on a challenge in 2022, originally Sammy and myself had hoped to cycle Mizen to Malin in 3 days however In October 2021 Daniel Lupari my grandson and Sammy’s son was diagnosed with Autism I suppose we probably knew that he did have it and things can be difficult for him at times.

Then in December 2021 Daniel was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and he is currently on 4 injections per day. This has naturally
meant that there has to have been a lot of adjustments for the family and a lot of learning on managing his eating and activities.

With this in mind we didn’t feel it would be fair to him for us to be away for 4 days in different surroundings with all that is going on. However we still wanted to do some sort of a challenge  so this time Sammy and myself will be attempting to cycle
twice around Lough Neagh clockwise then anti clockwise Approx. 160 miles on Sunday 24/07/2022
On Daniels recommendation we are undertaking this challenge and raise money for Diabetes UK and in particular Northern Ireland.
